The Moving Wall Vietnam Memorial

Did you visit The Moving Wall Vietnam Memorial when it was in Santa Barbara earlier this month? If you had the chance to visit the wall, or have seen the larger original version in Washington, DC, you know what a moving experience it is to see. Set against the beautiful Santa Barbara background at Chase Palm Park, the location and weather was perfect to honor the 58,000 who died in the Vietnam conflict.

Members of Vietnam Veterans of America-Chapter 218 of Santa Barbara brought the wall to Santa Barbara. The volunteers and veterans who assembled the wall donated the used and perfectly good lumber to the Habitat  ReStore after the wall was packed up and moved to the next site. What a wonderful way to recycle and pay tribute to our fallen heroes.
