On May 21st, the Santa Barbara City Council approved a $515,000 loan in federal home funds to
Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County to develop the 12 new low-income homes which will be part of the Canon Perdido Affordable Homes project. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HOME loans and must be spent by the city by the end of the fiscal year.
We are thankful to have support from the Santa Barbara City Council as we move forward on this exciting project which will provide safe, permanent, and affordable housing for 12 low-income families who currently live in sub-standard housing in Santa Barbara.
